The annual FREE neighborhood summer concert returns, so be sure to mark your calendars for this fun event! This year will feature a variety of music, food trucks, kids’ activities, community organizations, silent auction, vendors & giveaways!!

Like last year, we will be doing a cereal drive for the La Paz Micro-Community. Please bring a box of your favorite cereal to donate to our neighbors!!

When: Saturday, July 11th 5:30-9:30 PM (opens at 5:00 PM, arrive early to save your spot!)

Holiday Elf Scavenger Hunt on South Downing Street

Register in advance online or in-person at the check-in table, located in the lobby at 2480 South Downing Street. Free parking is available in the lot at the 2480 building or on the street. Registration begins at 4:45 PM and the event lasts from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

We’ll also be collecting donations for the Community Care Drive. We hope to see you there for some ice cream, beer, and holiday cheer!

DeBoer Park Harvard Gulch Trail Bridge Replacement Community Meeting

Join Denver Parks & Recreation (DPR), the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) and the Mile High Flood District (MHFD) to learn the latest updates and construction schedule for the DeBoer Park Harvard Gulch Trail bridge replacement, channel restoration, and stormwater infrastructure upgrades. This will be a virtual meeting to get updates and have a chance to ask questions to the project team. Register here to receive the meeting Zoom link.

In June 2023, the bridge was found to have critical structural issues which could not be repaired and required a complete replacement of the bridge. The existing bridge does not meet modern standards and requires a new design, which has added to the project timeline. Currently under design, the new bridge must comply with all local, state, and federal requirements. Because it is located in the Harvard Gulch floodplain, construction must be completed within the low-flow season of October to April, meaning construction cannot begin any earlier than October 2025. Pending project funding, the new bridge is expected to be complete by Summer 2026.

We are excited to announce that Denver Parks and Recreation is hosting a Movie in the Park event at Harvard Gulch North Park. They will be showing “Wonka” on Thursday, August 7th. The movie begins at 7:00 PM and is free to everyone.

The event entrance will be located off Iliff Avenue in the parking lot next to the football field. The movie screen will be in the northeast section of the parking lot facing the Harvard Gulch North fields.

Join your neighbors for a night out on South Downing Street & enjoy a FREE elf scavenger hunt. As you search for the elves in participating stores, you’ll get to know some of the local businesses in your own backyard. The participating businesses from the newly formed South Downing Business & Wellness District will also be offering samples, giveaways, and discounts! Once your elf scavenger map is complete, bring it to Right Cream for a free scoop of ice cream sponsored by RHGNA.

Advanced registration is HERE, but day of registration will also be available. More information coming soon!

The Broadway Halloween Parade is back again this year showcasing the uniqueness of local Broadway businesses. Expect spooky floats, bands, marchers, magicians & more. And of course CANDY!

Parade Timing: 6-8 PM

The stage for the parade announcer will be at 1st and Broadway, but the route will start at Rita Bass Parking lot (190 W 6th ave) and then end at Alameda.
